BYD Shark 6 Mud Flaps — Front & Rear Set of 4 (2025–2026)
A set of four moulded mud flaps cut to the BYD Shark 6's wheel arch shape — two front, two rear. They stop stones, mud and road grime being thrown up into your paint, sills and the underside of the tub. Matte black UV-stable ABS, supplied with a mounting screw kit. At $39 for the set, this is the cheapest paint protection you can put on a new ute.

Why Fit Mud Flaps To A New Ute
On any ute that sees gravel, the rear guards, lower doors and rocker panels take a constant blast of stone chips. Once the paint is through to primer, rust follows. Mud flaps are the cheapest insurance available — $39 against a respray.
They also matter if you tow. A ute without rear flaps fires stones straight at whatever is behind it, which is why most tourers fit them before a long trip and why a lot of caravan owners insist on them.
Worth knowing on the Shark 6 specifically: it is a heavy vehicle with plenty of torque available from a standstill, so it throws more from the rear wheels off loose surfaces than you might expect.

Common Questions
Do I have to drill my guards?
The kit comes with its own mounting screws and is designed to use the guard liner fixing points. If you would rather not touch it yourself, call us on 02 8773 1993 and we will fit them at Chipping Norton, or walk you through it over the phone before you start.
Are these mud flaps or fender flares?
Mud flaps. They hang below the wheel arch to catch spray off the tyre. Fender flares are the wide plastic mouldings that sit over the arch itself to add width — a different product for a different job, and the two are often fitted together.
Will they reduce my ground clearance?
Mud flaps hang lower than the guard by design, so on rough tracks the rear pair can catch. Plenty of 4WD owners unclip the rears before serious off-road work and refit them afterwards — it takes a couple of minutes.
Can I fit them if I already have wide-body fender flares?
Usually yes, but the mounting points can shift depending on the flare. Send us a photo of your setup and we will tell you straight before you buy.
Do they affect the Shark 6's EV range?
No meaningfully. Mud flaps sit in the wheel arch airflow, which is already turbulent. Any drag penalty is far too small to notice.
