Will This Fit My BT-50?

Fits	Mazda BT-50 2020 onwards — Dual Cab pick-up
Does NOT fit	Mazda BT-50 2011–2019 — a different tub, nothing carries over. Also does not fit Freestyle Cab, Single Cab or cab chassis.
Factory sports bar	A canopy covers the tub opening entirely, so a factory sports bar normally has to come off. Call us and we will confirm for your grade.

Gen 1 or Gen 2 — What You Get For The Extra $1,700

Straight answer, because the price gap is real.

Gen 1 ($3,495) — driver-side switch and a battery-powered LED interior light. Same steel-reinforced frame, same push-button windows, same styling. Maxliner does not publish a rated roof load for it, and it comes in only two colours.

Gen 2 ($5,195, this one) — dual-side switching so you can open the windows from either side of the ute, a hard-wired LED light that never needs batteries, premium roof rails included, a published 150kg dynamic / 350kg static roof rating, and a much wider colour range.

If you are running a roof top tent, a rack or any real weight on the roof, this is the one to buy. If the canopy is purely for secure dry storage, the Gen 1 does that job for $1,700 less.

Common Questions

How does a 95kg canopy affect my payload?
It comes straight off your ute's payload before you load anything into it. Add a drawer system and touring gear and it adds up quickly. If you are planning a full build, come and talk to us at Chipping Norton and we will work through the numbers rather than have you end up overloaded.

Can I fit a roof top tent?
Yes — 350kg static is the figure that matters for a parked tent, and 150kg dynamic is your limit while driving. Premium roof rails are included.

Is it dust sealed for outback touring?
The Venture uses sealed lift-up windows and a sealed rear door. As with any canopy, sealing performance depends on correct fitment — a good argument for having it fitted by us rather than doing it yourself.
