Check your tailgate before ordering. Isuzu changed the D-Max tailgate in 2024, and the two versions take different canopies. This one is not suitable for the 2024 tailgate update — for that you need our 2024+ tailgate-update canopy. Not sure? Will This Fit My D-Max?

Fits	Isuzu D-Max 2020–2024 — Dual Cab pick-up, with the original tailgate
Does NOT fit	D-Max models with the 2024 tailgate update. Also does not fit pre-2020 D-Max, Space Cab, Single Cab or cab chassis.
Factory sports bar	A canopy covers the tub opening entirely, so a factory sports bar normally has to come off. Call us and we will confirm for your grade.

Gen 1 or Gen 2 — What You Get For The Extra $1,700

Straight answer, because the price gap is real.

Gen 1 ($3,495, this one) — driver-side switch and a battery-powered interior light. Same steel-reinforced frame, same push-button windows, same styling. Maxliner does not publish a rated roof load for it.

Gen 2 ($5,195) — dual-side switching, a hard-wired interior light, premium roof rails included, and a published 150kg dynamic / 350kg static roof rating.

If you are running a roof top tent or a heavy rack, buy the Gen 2. If the canopy is for secure dry storage, this one does the job for $1,700 less.

Common Questions

How do I know which tailgate I have?
Send us a photo of the rear of your D-Max on 02 8773 1993 and we will identify it in a minute. It is worth doing — ordering the wrong one on a $3,495 canopy is an expensive mistake.

How does a canopy affect my payload?
A canopy is dead weight before you load anything into it, and it comes straight off your ute's payload. Add a drawer system and touring gear and it adds up quickly. If you are planning a full build, come and talk to us at Chipping Norton and we will work through the numbers rather than have you end up overloaded.

Can I fit a roof top tent?
There is no published roof rating on the Gen 1, so for tent use we would steer you to the Gen 2 at 350kg static.
